This web page contains the files and plots for the NUVEL version
of ITRF solution 2011a, NUVEL solution 2011an, and its auxiliary solutions:
The 2011an NUVEL solution includes data through early April 2011.
Please refer to the solution description for
information about how the NUVEL 2011an solutions were prepared and other important notes.
However, stations that generally appear in only small networks whose stations
all have episodic motion cannot be handled by the usual constraints.
Consequently some Japanese stations cannot be included at this time.
Instead, because of the delay since the last quarterly nuvel solution (2007dn),
a partial version of 2011an
consisting of all currently available files is now being released.
This includes velocity plots for all stations, baseline evolution plots
for all stations, and site evolution plots and data files for the non-Japanese
stations and for four Japanese stations
that are either located outside of Japan and have not been affected by episodic
motion (SUWON and SYOWA) or that have participated in a sufficient number of large networks
that their position is well-known (KASHIM34 and TSUKUB32).
The excluded Japanese stations are:
- 2011anbe (baseline position time series)
- 2011anse (site position time series)
Please note that although the data set extends to early April 2011,
the KASHIM34 and TSUKUB32 plots do not show the effects of the magnitude 9 earthquake
that occurred off the coast of Tohoku, Japan on March 11, 2011. Post-quake sessions
in which KASHIM34 or TSUKUB32 observed were excluded from this solution.
Other solution files, such as topocentric position
files, have not been generated yet. They might be generated at a later time,
although it is more likely that a new solution which adds more recent
data will be released instead.

These plots and files show baseline and site
position time series.

General Solution Files
Because only a subset of 2011an is being released (please see the General Information section above), only its station list is available at this time.
These plots show the direction and magnitude of selected sites'
motion with respect to the NUVEL1A-NNR reference frame using vectors plotted
at the sites' locations. Plots show combinations of horizontal and vertical plate
velocities, velocity adjustments and total velocities.
